"Why are you stressing, Amethyste?" Cameron asked me with genuine interest in the answer that followed.

I looked up at his deep eyes. "I told you already. Svetlana Barry."

He pulled me into an encouraging hug, "You have nothing to worry about. You've been working there the longest and you... you're.... nobody would ever fire you. That's unimaginable."

I sighed. "Okay...well..." I flattened my poofy metallic skirt. "Do I look okay?" I asked, feeling insecure as I was about to walk out of the door.

Cameron looked at me like I was crazy. "That's not a question. You look more than okay. You're beautiful, as always. Remember that when you're at the meeting, Aim... Amethyste."

I laughed. "Cameron, you know you can call me Aimee."

"I know, I know," he nodded, blushing for no apparent reason. "I just.. like Amethyste better."

"Okay," I said, smiling in the mirror. "I'm ready to go. I'll see you tomorrow after lunch?"

He nodded. "Of course. Be strong."

With another quick hug, I was off to work.

"Amateur Xanthus-Gates," Svetlana barked. She always called me 'Amateur' even though I'd been working at J'adore for 5 years.

Before I walked in, I checked on Johanna. She was smiling from ear to ear. It looked like her fight with Svetlana had gone well.

It was my turn.

I slowly walked into her dome-shaped, white, boring, colorless office. She was seated in her regular chair.. "I need to speak with you now."

"I know, for my end-of-month meeting." I blurted out.

Svetlana shook her head. "Yes, but no. About the Prada shoot. They found someone else. You'll no longer need to be working out and watching your weight.. you're free to eat like a pig."

Her snide comment didn't stab my heart today like it would on other days. "Thank you. I'll be sure to do that, Ms. Barry."

"That will be Mrs. Barry soon."

"Oh, right!" I said as I'd forgotten about her cougar-engagement. "When is the party?"

Svetlana smirked, "None of your business, pale face."

What? Pale face? I'd gone to the beach...and I'd gotten a tan! Why was saying I had a pale face? Maybe my new brunette hair made her think... oh, nevermind. Who cares what Svetlana Cougar Barry thinks?

I was about to leave, but Svetlana stopped me. "Oh, and Amethyste?" she finally said my name correctly.

"Yes?"

"Get me a a Venti, sugar-free, non-fat, vanilla soy, double shot, decaffeinated, no foam, extra hot, Peppermint White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha with light whip, upside-down, 1 pump of peppermint, 1 and 3/8 pumps vanilla,180 degrees, heavy whip-cream, 3 ice cubes, 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg sprinkled on top, with green sprinkles, lightly cinnamon dusted on, stirred, with no lid, double cupped, and a straw. Oh, and could you get vanilla bean scones, too?" Svetlana ordered, as if I could remember all that or as if I was the Starbucks cashier.

I smiled. Then I chuckled. Then I laughed. Soon enough, I was guffawing. Svetlana was offended by my behavior.

"Amethyste! What are you doing? Get me my drink!"

"No." I said proudly, making an O-shape with my mouth and smiling.

Svetlana snickered. "No? You and Johanna and Magenta are all very feisty today. Do as I say or get fired."

"You can't fire me, Ms.-almost-Mrs. Barry. My uncle is Bill Gates. And I think I'm really thirsty for a cappuccino. Goodbye." I waved with my delicate fingers and left the office with a strut.

Again, she barked, calling me back inside. "Your shoes."

"What about them? Are they out of style? Old season? Do they make you puke? Do they make you want to die? What?" I asked, full of anger and confidence.

"No," Svetlana shook her head. "I like them. I'm thinking about getting a pair for myself, who are they from?" Her voice was almost genuine and her tone was kind of ... sweet.

"Nina Ricci. But she doesn't make shoes for devils." I smiled innocently and charged out the office.

When I went home, I was exhilarated with confidence. Magenta wasn't home; she said she was back with Drew or something and Florence was braiding her hair.

"Hey, Flor." I smiled, throwing my Chanel bag on my bed.

Penelope is an under-grad from MIT. she came especially recommended for the job by Arthur himself. she's beautiful, but cold. nobody knows too much about her or her designs. sometimes people say she uses memories to create them, but nobody wants to ask. she's very independent, and students at her school described her as 'crazy-smart but introverted'.

I'm Penelope Clarke, that's why. No, you should choose me because Arthur already chose me. I'm fit for the job, I have an eye for design and structure. My architectural designs are deeper than they look and I can make any scene perfect for the particular dream we're in. Oh, and again, I'm Penelope Clarke. That should be enough, right?

-what can you bring to the table that no one else can? {not in character}
I can make Penelope a very complex and tempting character. I can bring suspense, drama and even real life experiences into this. I can mold into characters very well and I'm have advanced writing skills. I'm very active (I make 1+ sets a day) and I'm active also in commenting on others' sets and etc.

-what's your totem? but don't let me touch it...i just want to see it.
My totem is a die (singular dice) and it's the typical cube die. Except that a usual die has 21 dots on it (in real life) but in my dreams it has 24 dots on it. That's how I can tell if I'm dreaming or it's reality. It also changes color tones.

-does it have significance?
I found it when I was on a trip to China. The Great Wall actually. My father found it for me, really. It's close to me because my father's health is failing.

-what do you know about Dom Cobb?
Dom Cobb. The man is complicated, I know that. He also brings projections into his dreams which can mess up things for others involved in a dream. He's also charming though. He has had it rough with losing Mal.

-what is your background? your family life?
My mother was gone before I got to know her. I don't even know if she's still alive. My father raised me, just me, an only child and he took me traveling with him. He's really ill now so he's basically dying. I'm from New York and I know my way around.

-will you be active in this roleplay?
Y-E-S. I'm on Polyvore like 24/7 it's crazy.

-have you seen inception?
Yes, twice but I'm going to see it again.
